My little sister is 32 today. I guess I can’t really call her little anymore. If you asked me 20 years ago if Amy and I would be friends when we were in our 30s, I would have laughed at you. We didn’t get along too well during the teen years. I guess some of that has to do with being just 21 months apart in age. Plus, we had four brothers in our house, which made life pretty chaotic.
But, a funny thing happened when we grew up. We went out on our own. Got married. Had babies. Lived all over the country. And became friends again. Even though we were at each other’s throats when we were teenagers, Amy is now the sibling I’m closet to and see the most … and she’s Shelby’s favorite auntie, so that’s saying a lot!
We’ll always be sisters, but I’m glad that we are friends.
Happy Birthday Amy.
