Lift Me Up 2011
Karla Dudley was offering a challenge of sorts on her blog a few weeks ago … “Lift Me Up 2011.” It was a scrap lifting challenge. Once you signed up, you were given the link to another scrapper’s favorite personal gallery and instructed to find a layout to “lift.” I’ve never been really good at scrap lifting. I don’t oppose it … it’s just not in my nature to do what some else is doing. This is also why I don’t like taking classes that tell step-by-step how to create a layout or project. I want to learn techniques and then apply them to my pages or projects how I choose. Anyway, I saw Karla’s challenge and thought I would “stretch” myself a little bit … which is sort of becoming my mantra for 2011. Stretch .. stretch … stretch!
Here’s what I came up with:
I used an overlay from House of 3; arrow rub-ons from Robyn Meierotto at Design House Digitals; all the flowers and the flower frame are by Shawna Clingerman from the February Digi Files; and the alphas are from the Jauary Digi Files.
To see all the layouts that were created for the challenge and the layout I lifted, visit Karla’s blog here.

That’s a cool idea for Karla to create a “scraplift” train. I’m going to go check it out. I love your layout and all the white space!
