Lovely Layouts

I'm still a layout making machine! I completed LOAD and managed to create more than the 31 layouts required. And I've kept up with creating each day (though it's early in June, so I shouldn't toot my own horn yet). But it does mean I have layouts to share.

Mike celebrated his 35th birthday this week. I don't normally scrapbook about Mike. It's not that I don't want to or that I don't love him ... it's mostly because I feel like it's somewhat invading his privacy (if that makes sense). With the kids, I scrap about their lives, how I feel about them and try to document their stories since they can't. Mike, on the other hand, is an adult ... so if he wants to tell his story, then he can. I just try to be careful about not sharing too much or over sharing.

Journaling reads:

Another year, another birthday. And another chance to tell you how much I love you. You are a good man Mike. A good man indeed. You’re a good daddy. You’re a hard worker. You’re a great friend. You’re smart. You’re funny. You’re awesome and thirty five. Happy birthday my love.

When I showed Shelby this layout she said "Mom, those pictures are from Halloween. You are really behind on your scrapbooking!" Umm, thanks? Actually, this was another assignment and I was tasked with using the Bump in the Night kit from PxlCafe. Even though I created this layout for an assignment, it has now become one of my favorites. I normally have trouble using "themed" products, so it was a huge victory for me to use something so specific to Halloween.

Journaling reads:

Oh Shelby, you may be totally adorable, but you’re also totally silly. Trying to get a “serious”
picture of you is next to impossible; IT DRIVES MY NUTS! But all the silliness along the way is pretty cute too, so I can’t really complain.

This was a quick layout I created for an assignment from PxlCafe, but it's one of my favorites as of late. I love the colors. Love the photos. And I love the simplicity of it all.
