{Art} Painting My Heart Out

I didn't go to art school. I have a degree in journalism, so the world of words is where I've always felt most at home. But I love to paint. For me, painting is a flow activity. The whole world disappears and and it's like I'm dancing with colors and light. It's without a doubt my happy place. As I continue to explore painting, my style is slowly starting to emerge: messy, happy and bright, which is ironic since I'm not a messy person in my real life. Instead, I'm orderly, precise and very inflexible. But when I paint I allow myself to be free and it feels so good.

My goal for this year is to have my first art show. I have no idea how I'm going to do this, but it's a big dream and I'm going to make it happen. Just working toward it makes me happy.

Here are a few things I've been working on lately.
