For Valentine's Day

This year, Mike and I decided we were going to make each other gifts. To be totally honest, I think Valentine's Day is dumb holiday. It's overrated and over hyped. I just think it's become way too commercial. Mike, being Mike, made me a play list. Ya know what I mean ... a modern version of a mix CD. But since I really don't listen to CDs any more, he made me a play list which was uploaded to my iPhone.

I used my digi scrapping skills to make his present.

I forgot to take a picture of the finished project... put here's what it looked like before I printed it out and framed it.

I printed it out as a 5 x 7 and then put it into a 8 x 10 black frame with white mat. Mike took it his office and it now proudly sits on his desk.

The quote I used for this was:

"If ever there is tomorrow when we're not together... there is something you must always remember. You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think. But the most important thing is, even if we're apart... I'll always be with you."
-- A.A. Milne

So there you go. Handmade V-Day gifts from our house. I have to say, I really love the play list Mike made for me. And I've listed to it over and over again ... which means it much more meaningful and useful than some of that crapolla people are telling consumers they "must" buy their loved ones for Valentine's Day.

P.S. For Shelby and Coop we got them recordable storybooks. I recorded myself reading the books, so when I'm traveling they can hear my voice whenever they'd like. They were a HUGE hit. The books themselves are a little expensive, but so worth it.
