Alphanumeric Blog Hop

I love the letter "i." How can you not? I mean come on ... without "i" there would be no I .. or me if you want to be grammatically correct. I'm super-duper excited to be participating in my very first blog hop. A few weeks back I took Shimelle's online class "Blogging for Scrapbookers." In the process, I made lots of virtual connections and discovered some cool crafty blogs. One of those oh so cool crafty ladies organized a hop and I gladly jumped on the train!  So welcome to all you readers who have hopped on over ... Make sure you keep reading all the way to the end, there is a giveaway at the bottom!

Now, back to the letter "i" and more about me! Here are two i-words that make up a huge part of who I am.

My favorite brand of ice cream .. as
well as one of my all time
favorite flavors!

Ice Cream: If I could only eat one more thing for the rest of my life, it would be ice cream -- rocky road ice cream to be more precise. There are many mornings I wake up and want to eat nothing but a huge, heaping bowl of ice cream. And there are lots of mornings I let myself! I eat ice cream when I am happy. I eat ice cream when I am sad. I eat ice cream when I am lonely, frustrated, anxious or just bored. It’s a bit of an addiction if I were to be completely honest about it. But there are worse things to be addicted to, right?

Independent: Being independent is never a bad thing. But there are times I consider myself independent to a fault. I crave spending time alone. With my job sending me to all points on the globe, I have an abundance of alone time in hotels, taxi cabs and restaurants. Coming from a big family I have always assumed I was independent because each child had to pitch in to get the work done. Now, as an adult, I think I’m independent because in an attempt to escape the chaos (happy chaos, by chaos none the less). I wanted to be able to function all on my own, enjoy quiet time and escape the madness. Now, I’m almost need, more than crave, the alone time. I rarely ask for help, which can be bad. My poor husband is all about quality, couple’s time, and I personally can only handle so much of that. It makes me feel like I’m locked up in a very small room, with no way out. But I’ve also accomplished some pretty amazing things because I’m so strong willed and independent. Not bad, if I do say so myself.

The next stop on the hop is This Little Life Of Mine. But before you go, leave me a comment. Tell me what you favorite "i" word is. And if you do, you'll be entered to win a box of scrapbooking goodies. I'll be stuffing a flat rate box full of crafty goodness and I'm happy to ship it anywhere in the world. I'll pick a winner sometime late Monday night (April 18). If you get lost or missed one of the blogs in the hop, here's a link to everyone who is participating. Enjoy!

P.S. Today my daughter is officially seven. Though we celebrated her birthday last weekend, I wanted to tell her today, on her "real" birthday, that I love her. She's the best girl ever and I'm so lucky to be her mama. We'll be lunching with Ariel today at California Adventure!
