I made a goal last year of taking a self portrait each week. 52 Weeks. 52 Photos. How did I do? Splendid, if I do say so myself. Check this out:
I have loved this project so much, I'm going to do it again in 2012. There is something so powerful about focusing on yourself, even if it's just for a few seconds to snap a photo. I spend a lot of time taking care of other people. I spend a lot of time worrying about other people's stuff. And there is absolutely nothing wrong with taking some time to take care of me. Plus, as an added bonus, many years from now I'm sure my children will appreciate these photos of me, since (as the primary family photographer) I'm often missing in the gazillion photos we take each year.
