Happy Happy Birthday Shelby Rose

The birthday girl and some of her guests.

The birthday celebrations continue, this time with a horse-themed party with Shelby, her cousins and a bunch of school friends.

All of us grown-ups worked super hard to get things ready for the party, and I was quite happy with the spread. The cupcakes, with ponies on top, turned out even cuter than I thought they would. And the horse-shaped chocolate suckers (I used sugar free chocolate) are adorable and yummy (bonus!).

We had 10 kids from 3 to 6 years old running around the house. Lots of chaos, but tons of fun. Pin-the-tail on the donkey was well received (Shelby cheated, but we cut her some slack as the birthday girl). There was lots of trampoline jumping. Mike picked up eight pizzas and when the kids were eating was the ONLY time it was quiet! The big hit of the fiesta was the pinata. It took the kids quite a bit of time to break it, but they didn't give up and were greatly rewarded!

Here's the birthday girl in action. She was peeking, giggling and having a great time! Mommy and Daddy are pooped from all the partying and preparation. Luckily, we have a whole year to rest up for the next one!
